The sewing community of Atlanta has been all abuzz about the fantastic fabric stores we have in our area. One in particular gets much praise. I have heard wonderful things about Fine Fabrics in Norcross for some time and was anticipating the day I would be able to visit.

Just recently I had a few unscheduled hours in my day so I decided to make the trip. I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. The store is everything people said it would be and much, much more.

The selection of fabrics is incredible. The sewing notions line aisle after aisle. it is an incredible store. I have to admit I was a bit overwhelmed because my sewing skills are not quite at the advanced level yet. And I have a limited knowledge of fabrics. So I stuck to what I know well…cotton.

I searched for various African prints to add to my collection. And I had many to choose from. The men at the cutting table were more than helpful but everything moves so quickly I got anxious. (I don’t do well in new environments) My fabric was cut beautifully and I was off to the register in no time. Can you believe that most of the fabric is sold at $4.99/ yard? This was such a beautiful surprise.

Now I’m left to ponder what I will create with my fabrics. I’m so excited. I can hardly wait to cut into them!
