It’s been three months. I pulled out my sewing machine from the corner, wiped away the dust and dedicated myself to learning how to sew. Since December, I’ve been addicted to seams, fabric, and notions that help me perfect this craft.

It started with pillow cases and progressed to infinity scarves. Now that I’ve perfected those accessories, I decided to expand my knowledge of sewing and make a skirt.

I found a fabulous circle skirt tutorial on YouTube. After watching it a few dozen times I was ready to try it out. Everything was so simple. I had to make a few adjustments to the waistline because I used elastic instead of a stretch fabric like suggested. But with a little bit of prior knowledge from a sewing class, I was able to create an enclosed elastic band with little to no problem.

I’m incredibly proud of my circle skirt. I can’t wait to wear it!
