Addicted? Yeah, just a little. During the Christmas holidays I decided to tackle my sewing machine with full pads, a helmet and mouth guard. It had been sitting idle for 10 months collecting dust because I was afraid to use it.

After taking my first sewing class in January 2015 I was gifted a Singer machine by Mr. Incredible. I made one feeble attempt to use it but was overwhelmed by all the bells and whistles. So I gave up. I left the machine in the corner of a room and tried to forget about it.

But during my two-week Christmas vacation I decided that I would defeat Goliath once and for all. And defeat I did! Successfully, I sewed not one, not two, but 6 pillow cases! I felt like a winner.

Now, after a bevy of trips to the fabric store and hundreds of dollars spent I have started a full line of pillow coverings (Hence, the name Kozy Kase). Thankfully, the orders are pouring in and I’ve received rave reviews on my product.

Admittedly, I’m obsessed. Sewing stays at the forefront of my mind. Each day, I rush home to create yet another Kozy Kase design. I check my website for the latest orders and package them for shipment.

This is amazingly fun. It’s an awesome feeling to start with nothing besides a concept and turn it into a tangible thing. One day soon I’ll move on to sewing more advanced garments. But for now, I’m totally in love with my Kozy Kases.
