Outfitting My New Dress Form
My eye has been on this dress form for months. MONTHS! I first spotted it in Joann Fabric during the Christmas holidays. It was on sale for $39.00. I really, really wanted to gift myself with it but because I was knee deep in my Game Room decorating project, I decided against purchasing it.
Since then I’ve kept an eye out for another sale on the dress forms. Well I found it! The price was just a bit over the original sale price, but I decided to spend the $49.00 the store was asking for and bring my dress form home.
Once she was home with me and out of the box I had to come up with a name. My original thought was to name her “Vanessa”, but since her burlap fabric has images of Paris on it, I decided she should have a more Parisian name.
So, I dubbed her “GiGi”! Isn’t it fitting? I had to outfit GiGi in some cute garments so I grabbed a scarf from my closet and created a red and white tutu.
The skirt was easy to make. I cut various pieces of tulle about 12 inches in length and tied them around a piece of ribbon. Then, I tied the ribbon securely around GiGi’s waist and Voila!
Isn’t she fabulous??!! My next sewing project may be a fitted t-shirt for GiGi. It gets a little chilly at night annd I don’t want her catching a cold!
